Quoting From Posts Missing?

This forum software isn’t like many other forums I’ve used, for example there doesn’t seem to be a way to quote a previous post to reply to specific details within it. Am I missing something?

Something stupid too: I originally titled this thread “Forum Features”, and the software vetoed it because the “title must be at least 15 characters”!

Simply mark the text you want in the post you want to quote or quote a post by answering to it directly in your reply.

Oh! Thanks!! (I’m used to there being a quote button rather than a context thing.)

Slight difference: I usually use an iPad for this kind of thing, and I can’t see all those options in the UI, but at least I found ‘quote’.

Something has changed.

The “reply” button below a post used to automatically quote that post but is not working now.

A preview window used to appear next to the typing box. This no longer happens, nor does it happen when one uses the main Reply button at the bottom of a topic.

It also seems to be too fussy about the number of characters in a post, and whether a post is too similar to a previous one, AND whether a post appears to be a correct sentence!

It also adds a line space every time one presses the return key….

A quote, or not??

Nope, didn’t work.

There is also the option to mark the text, and a popup comes up that allows you to quote - when you are already in the draft view for your answer, this is a way to add quotes from different posts:

Yes, that is still working. The other issues I mentioned are not/changed.
