Proper procedure to turn off Snapmaker

Brand new user here, I just completed my first print. How do I turn off the Snapmaker so that it can do a “graceful” shutdown?

If I turn off the power to the supply, the USB stick will keep showing as having errors on it. I can only imagine what sort of damage this is doing to the actual controller over time.

Leaving it powered on the whole time isn’t an option for safety reasons. In the manual it states

In the Snapmaker (English) manual page 6:

“Do not leave the machine unattended while it is still on”

So how do I turn it off?

Hi! Welcome to the forums! Assuming you have the 2.0 unit.

Those are 2 separate issues:

  1. the usb will be corrupted whether or not you insert and remove with the machine on. Support hasn’t commented, afaik
  2. Turn the power off at the power supply, that’s the designed method of shutting down.
