Problems printing via the USB port

Luban uses the CPU at 370% and causes a workload of 4 and more, on a quad-core cpu with 3,6GHz when printing via usb. some sub-process is getting completely out of hand. very annoying, as this often causes prints to be broken off, in which case the heating bed and the nozzle are not switched off.
Luban 3.10.3

You’re getting an additional 2.7 CPUs for free here!

Wow, I knew it wasn’t particularly efficient, but that’s really bad.

This display the program ā€œtopā€ in the linux shell for one thread, but luban use more threads in sum all four cores of the cpu. I think if I use an eight core with 6GHz luban also takes that.

Why do people want to use the usb port to print?
Just wondering. Tried it once and couldn’t see the advantage to it.
Why tie up my computer and take the chance of it dropping? I always just send the file and run it from the control pad. (or sometimes use a flash drive)
The only thing I use usb port for is to calibrate extrusion.

My Snapmaker is at home in City A. I work in City B during the week and only come home at the weekend. So I need a way to remotely control the Snapmaker. I can’t use the touch panel over a distance of 100km. The computer on which luban is running has no monitor; I access it via an SSH tunnel via VNC. The WLAN connection between luban and snapmaker always needs confirmation of authentication, badly from a distance. I haven’t been able to teach my cats to move a stick from the computer to the printer. So only USB remains. I know that there is octoprint. But why another software when I need Luban to create the 3DP, Laser, CNC print files anyway. The control via usb is available. Actually runs quite well except for the extremely high CPU load. My wife changes the printing plate. She is not as enthusiastic about technology as I am and I cannot get her to operate the machine. To see what the printer is doing I have webcams.

Have you considered octoprint / astroprint? Sounds like exactly what you would be looking for.

Okay, I totally get it for that use (or with octoprint.)
I’ve just seen a lot of people having problems using Luban to print and wondering why bother. Didn’t see an advantage.
Remote use makes sense.
Since it already has wifi built in it would be really nice to be able to control it without having to resort to octoprint or a dedicated computer.
Eventually when I stop working remotely I’ll have to set up something. For right now I’m home pretty much 24/7.
