Printing with gold & copper filament

Hi all.

I received my SM1.0 for Christmas and have been having a ball since printing random whatnots. I was given some gold and copper filament to use and have tried various settings but I cannot get it to work like the white filament that came with the SM. It appears very stringy when printed and crumbles.

Any suggestions on how I can get a better print quality or is the SM1.0 not meant for this type of filament?

Thanks.

It could be a filament quality or storage issue (old filament, moisture . . .). What brand is this filament? Are we talking about gold/copper-coloured PLA, or one of the fancy filaments containing metal dust mixed with a binding polymer?

I would suggest to print a temp tower of each new filament roll, this would help with stringing as well. Search for my walk through there are ready gcodes.
