My working laser settings for 2.8mm Plywood

Hi all,

I am very new to the SM2 community but happily own a 250T. As I’ve entered the SM realm with the new T version it seems I am very lucky in regards to how it performs. I’m experienced in the 3D printing world and own a few Prusa’s. I can honestly say the A250T prints almost as good as my Prusa’s - the only thing it lacks is good part cooling, the overhangs are worse then on the Prusa’s.

Now working with the laser I’ve looked for good settings and have had a lot of not so impressive cut - attempts. Only just now I found a setting that worked really well for cutting 2.8mm plywood and to my surprise it doesn’t involve a lot of passes or a lot of Z travel.

The settings for cutting 2.8mm Plywood are:

140mm speed
4 passes
0,1 mm Z step per pass
100% laser

As I’ve looked for good settings myself I thought it would be nice to share.

Thanks,
J.

Nice, I’ll give that a try and let you know. My only concern is that too many passes might leave a lot of burn out by the edges. Thank you so much for sharing!
