Best Settings for 1/8" (3mm) Laser Cutting

Hey All,

New here, just got my A350 two weeks ago. I have been spending time trying to get the laser to cut. I have done the 1.5mm without much trouble using the settings that are given by snapmaker instructions. I have lately been trying to do thicker ranging from 2.7mm-3.1mm depending on which store i got the wood from. Has anybody gotten a chance to do some tests and find optimal settings?

I am currently working with bass wood and baltic birch plywood.

The plywood seems to have three layers. I even debated doing three tool paths one for the top veneer one for the center and one for the bottom. Has anyone tried this?

Also not much luck with the basswood. Can anyone share their settings they use for 3.1mm basswood to get a good cut through?

Thanks for your help!

I have 3/32" basswood and did that in 2 passes. I would imagine 3 or 4 would be enough. Probably a slow work speed, maybe 5-10mm/s or so, might have to experiment.

For plywood try many thin passes. The glue doesn’t burn well.
