Hello everyone, first thing to say I am new to SM 2.0 and also the forum (all forums).
So sorry if my question doesn’t belong here. And last thing, I am French and don’t speak English, so this is a “google” translation.
I’m using SM 2.0 and my question is about dual extruder 3D printing.
Here is my question: Can we install a nozzle different from what is marked on the HotEnd. Example: HotEnd 0.4 on which we would mount a 0.2 nozzle.
Or do you need the nozzle corresponding to the HotEnd.
A BIG thank you
Welcome to the forum!
The nozzle is changeable and the size is only for touchscreen or Luban visualization.
If you set up your gcode/slicer correctly it’s all fine.
Hello, thank you for your response. I understand the setting in Luban, but I don’t see what changes on the touch screen? In any case, thank you, I will be able to change my 0.4 nozzles with 0.2 ones (without changing the HotEnds) and learn how to use them. Good day.
Yes you got it correctly.
Keep in mind following for printing with 0.2mm nozzle:
Layer height: half of the diameter
Layer width:1.2x of the diameter
Speed: less than normal, attention small parts need a lot of cooling! (maybe use additional cooling fans)
Encore merci
Glad it helped you.
Printing small details or a small layer time could lead to ugly prints, for imagination have a look at this:
