[Magic Smoke] When you accidentally connect the cable the wrong way

Thanks @RichRickett,
That’s what I was thinking too, not worth blowing up the new controller
The support team has been very helpful with me too!
Will definitely be more careful from now on!

Exactly my experience too.
How did you order the replacement multi connection controller board?

You talk to support. They’ll send you just about anything.

Same thing happened to me yesterday. I have the enclosure and I was going from 10W laser to 3D print module. I did exactly what others have said and due to the poor connector design there was significant smoke and pops when I applied power.

Ya, super annoying (and costly). I don’t know why they couldn’t put the connectors all in the same orientation. I put a big white arrow on the module connector tab so I don’t ever forget.

It’s all very well having a locking tab that also serves as a visual clue to its orientation, but if it’s possible to get it the wrong way around then it’s virtually useless.

Problem is that after going home, the toolhead is too close to the top of the enclosure to see the connector.
It’s much better now I got the quick swap kit, which leaves the tool in roughly the middle.
Btw - I HIGHLY recommend the quick swap kit.
