yeah seems like a good deal of it is slicer issues then. boy luban is terrible isnt it?
It may be worth it to experiment with z offset a bit.
What is this filament you have?
My opinion is that Cura’s downfall is it has “too many” things to adjust. its really nice to have access to so much stuff, but then you have to experiment with so many things to figure out whats causing what it becomes overwhelmingly annoying.
im eager to see if u can print the gcode i shared above personally. very curious about how it will come out
@iAlreadyLost so it seems it is Cura. Blow it out off of your hard drive and reinstall.
@MooseJuice i tend to agree, Cura has too many features, that’s why I turn on that plugin that explains what everything does when you hover the cursor over it.
@MooseJuice Luban is. Minute I switched to Cura it was night and day difference. There are a lot of options, fortunately I’m glad it had the ability to switch them off. I’ve no need of seeing multiple extruder values of making the print look fuzzy.
I’m using the Snapmaker basic white filament.
I’m printing the code right now. The initial layers look better save for two things: there’s still a gap when it starts to lay the infill, which actually shows in the gcode so I’m not too worried. The other is a gap between the walls on the left and right of the print. It’s in the same location as the gcode where theres a tiny gap when the walls reverse direction. It’s more prominent the further back you go but not so much on the back wall. Pictures for reference:
@Artezio I’ve printed at that before, when I was first calibrating the machine. I got it pretty damn close before I decided I was good with testing for stringing. The only issue I think I found that was prominent with the latest version is it spamming an error message in the log. I downgraded to 1.12.2 like you recommended. Least that disappeared.
@MooseJuice You know, I think your on to something with z-distance. My next print I lowered just a little bit. It still isn’t difficult to get off, but there’s a lot less gaps now. Also is a picture of your tower below. The right side you can see the gap, which on the machine was part of the print furthest away from control module.
I have never calibrated esteps or a K value. I also have a Renkforce RF2000 because I have never calibrated a K value. I always only work with software (slicer) settings and a good mechanical setting of the machine.
Yeah I think you should experiment with recalibrating - use the 7 x 7 grid and preheat your bed for about 20 minutes at temp first. then execute the job after pre-heating to temp again.
