Luban vs Prusa slicer

Hi guys,
I’ve read that Prusa slicer seems much better than our Luban SW…
Can someone explain me where and why is it better?
The Prusa SW is just for 3D print or can we use it also for laser and CNC?
I’ve got the A150 model, is there a guide on how to use the Prusa SW with my machine?

Thanks!

I sometimes use Slic3r, which I believe is what PrusaSlicer was forked from. It’s only for 3D printing. Like Cura, it exposes a lot more settings and toggles than Luban. It uses a completely separate slicing algorithm implementation relying on different libraries than Cura/Luban, so it’s going to have a different set of quality tradeoffs and things that it’s good at.

The larger number of exposed options alone would make it superior to Luban. Whether it’s superior to Cura is likely more subjective.

@ElloryJaye you might want to try SuperSlicer instead of Slic3r, as it is a branch from PrusaSlicer and has many more features.

My settling on Slic3r had more to do with what was packaged for my Linux distro a year and some ago than any comprehensive feature comparison  . It looks like someone has since packaged SuperSlicer, so perhaps I will try it out sometime—thanks for the heads-up.
