When I try to engrave using the “Line-filled Engraving” preset every second line is somehow distorted so the result looks fuzzy. Here is a close up scan of the problem:
The start point and the end point of each line is correct but every second line is somehow wrong in-between. I guess something is off when the laser moves in one direction. The lines in the g-code are correct.
The workpiece is taped to the work plate so it doesn’t move a bit. I’m using an original Snapmaker 2.0 A250 with a Quick Swap Kit and the 10W laser module. Firmware and Luban are up to date.
Anyone else experiencing this problem or having an idea how to troubleshoot this?
Is this picture your engraved model piece?
Do you see the same artrfacts in your gcode preview?
Whats the engraving mode? Greyscale is maybe the wrong option to go with letters.
I suggest black and white mode.
Yes, that’s a close up picture of the resulting workpiece. It’s an aluminum card coated in black paint.
The gcode preview doesn’t show these artifacts. As “processing mode” I used “vector”.
For the “movement mode” I tried:
“Line” with direction “horizontal”: same result
“Line” with direction “vertical”: same result
“Dot”: works perfectly but is slower than line mode
So for now my workaround is using “Dot” as movement mode. Since I get perfect results with this mode I suspect some kind of software/firmware related bug with the tool head positioning in line mode …?
What font is that and what size? Which laser module? I was guessing it was the font having a 3d characteristic but the fact that dot mode works suggests it isn’t the font.
