Laser Engraving Bone

Sorry, a bit morbid…but has anyone tried laser engraving bone?
I tried a bit with no luck so far…but I hope its just a matter of hitting that sweet spot in settings.
I started with an old rib bone that I’ve had in my collections, but eventually would like to put mandelas on skulls.
100% power did nothing. Is it something to do with jog speed perhaps? The slower, the more powerful?
Thanks in advance

What a surprise, I don’t think anyone has probably done it.

A laser sculpture of your beloved pet’s bones…
I’ve heard about it somewhere, but I’ve never done it.

I think it’s possible, but…:frowning:

After some fiddling, I found out the following worked (just in case there are any other weirdos out there like me )
Black and White
Density: 10
Jog: 3000
Work: 1000
Laser: 100%
Now I just need to figure out how to account for the curvature of the material. I could have printed on the other, flat side, but this was an experiment to see what the capabilities would be. I made the test box and that wasn’t enough of a challenge lol

What about antlers? This whole thing sounds cool

Test on paper first. Just the outline at 1000mm/min work speed.
I bet you can get several different curve tests on one sheet.
I just saw on the Facebook group someone etched stone, so I thought bone should be way easier.

I just came into a stash of antlers! I am gonna try!
