Laser engraves hidden layers and not visible layers

I created circular text in Inscape. I used a circle guide curve on one layer and the text on another. I hid the layer with the circle. In the Luban editor the circular text is shown, and not the guide curve. The laser engraved the guide curve and not the text. Weird!
