I wish I never bought this A350. Support is terable. nothing works right. All they ask is payment. just pay. I bought 10 watt laser and after plugged in it didn’t work. After search I found it firmware needs to be updated.
I updated latest firmware now nothing works. xyz are down. after keep trying to go older version and finally one of the version started to respond except x module. x module perminently stopped working. Now they are asking to pay 144$ plus shipping. in web site selling 5 of them are 350$. I only used it a few times. firmware update killed x module. Support is dead. There is no one to call. Worst company I ever know. As far as laser engraver I ordered Xtool P2 and CNC I am looking for a good company. 3D printer I have ultimaker S3. excellent quality and excellent support not like snapmaker they only focus on charging people. never fallow up the case. see what happened etc. Any way this will be my last snapmaker and I told all of my friends never buy this garbage. CAN BUS control makes 0 sence. Terable tech support. They do not even know what they are talking about. Everything tech support recommended was incorrect.
Yes, this seems to be an increasingly common issue with them. I had something similar happen to me where what Support said was wrong was not even close; they wanted me to replace parts without knowing if it would for sure fix it. No thanks. I figured it out on my own and fixed it without their help, and for a lot less time and money. I now have my machine pretty heavily modified to a point that it can finally put out a quality project with pretty good reliability, but I would not buy one again. Now I have a much better 3D printer to take place of the SM for that use, so I am now mostly dedicated to helping other users figure out how to fix and use the SMs they already have, but I would never recommend it as a good purchase.
If you are able to post videos, we (myself and several other users) might be able to help you get yours working, but I certainly can’t blame you for just wanting to rid yourself of it.
Hi Dustin,
Thank you for your email. In my case x module electronics got damaged needs to be replaced.
Andre
Sorry to hear that. Do you know exactly how they managed to get damaged?
I only use it for a few days since I bought it. When I bought the 10 watt laser it didn’t work so it needed firmware update. After trying update’s multiple times that how it started. I opened the module there is power supply 5v and 3.3v got shorted that caused by motor driver ic. After I disconnect the motor drive ic board power supply voltages came back. This means motor drive ic got shorted. I am not a cheap guy I will buy the module but the question is why latest firmware update didn’t work. No documentation to show what firmware will work with my model. None of those issues should of happened if they had compatibility list what firmware to use.
There are no firmware incompatibilities - each firmware works with each combination of modules, so my gut feeling is that it is just coincidence that your linear module died along with the FW update…
I tried my hardest to make mine work. I tried the 3d printer and it worked without issue about 50% of the time on smaller prints. Never got a print bigger than 6 to 7 inches to print because of table flex. Tried cnc module and the head flexed so bad it was unusable and i was only cutting .2mm deep with at 3.175mm bit. Tried a couple of projects with it but gave up. Used the laser a couple of times but really didn’t get to use it much as i didnt have adequate access to outside and wasnt dropping another $500 to $600 on a filter system finally gave it to a kid that didnt have any money and was interestes in 3d printing. I bought a creality cr10 smart pro and then bought a mingda magician x2. Both run absolute rings around the snapmaker. Will be ordering a longmill mk2 for cnc work. I will never buy another snapmaker product because of non existent tech support and not caring about the customer at all. I spent almost $2000.00 to get mine and the enclosure. Then they want a ridiculous amount for any upgrades, and finally dropped the product all together and want me to spend another $1800 for their new product? No thank you. I wont post here again. Just needed to say my piece!!!
I feel the same way. Latest issues with the dual extruder underscore that same practice isn’t getting any better. Artisan isnt any better than the SM2. I am just tired of fighting the machine. I have invested over $3000 in all the updates/upgrades/accessories thinking that I will finally reach reliability and I might get it working well for a couple months then something happens and I am stuck chasing issues again. I dont mind a machine with a steep learning curve if when you get to the top of the curve its reliable. This just isnt the case with the SM2
@Jade You guys are losing us. Just realize we need ya’ll to pay attention.
