Need to cut a shape from a block of aluminum that will require the use of the 4th axis. Before I lay down $400 for it, I was wondering if it’s strong enough for aluminum. I’ve already ordered the 200w CNC upgrade for some other aluminum cutting I have to do.
If you are on Facebook, watch the work of Chris Kaladstrodamus - he is doing ton’s of Aluminium work with his SM 2.0 - really amazing! Here: Redirecting... he uses the rotary for it. So seems to work. And looking at how much he already posted on Facebook, the machine seems to keep going unimpressed.
That’s good to know it’s capable. Don’t do FB though. Does he have a YT channel?
edit: His FB page seems to be gone.
