How can I set laser height more than 40 mm?

As the title says, the display or software doesn’t let me choose more than 40 mm for the laser height.
The work origin height doesn’t seem to be effective.

I have an object with 80 mm of height and I need to engrave on top of his surface, I need to configure the laser height around 85/90 mm.
My machine is the snapmaker 2.0 A350 .

It’s possible to configure a greater height? And how?

ill start by saying ive never lasered that high. however, when i start any laser job the first thing the printer wants is to set the z for the top of the material. it then asks to set work origin.

is this process the one causing you trouble?

What laser module are you using? My snapmaker touchscreen lets me set 145mm as the max height.

Not more than 40mm workpiece is only for camera capture laser modules I guess.
It should be possible to manually set it on the touchscreen when starting the job.

@wilsonrobertt No, I don’t have problems with that process. However work origin allows me to set higher but when I engrave it moves to the 40mm limit, from the panel > settings> laser height the slider stop at 40mm.

@Skreelink I’m using the laser module 1600mw (this one (this is just to show an image of it, I got the laser module along side the printer)).

@xchrisd I tried to set in from the panel, in settings > laser height there’s a slider that stops at 40 mm . I tried to set it on the work origin at an higher height but when I engrave it still moves lower at the 40 mm limit.

You’ll just have to use the ‘manual’ method by setting the nozzle down on your object if that works for you. Otherwise you’ll have to get out of the Snapmaker/Luban ecosystem and do some custom GCode to bypass the limitation.
