How can I add artisan to Cura

I see a lot of people in the community use Cura. I wanted to give it a try, but I couldn’t find artisan in the add printer section, does anyone know how?

You’ll find it listed after installing the Snapmaker plug in from the plug ins market place.

Hi
I’ve just became a user of the Artisan. I used to use A350 with Cura and Snapmaker plugin with no problems.
Now when i want to connect Atisan to Cura i have no printer listeed in the network printer list - cura cannot lockate it.
Manual IP input gives no solution.
My cura version is 5.8.1
Snapmaker plug-in is installed.

Please suggest something.

The printer is connecting well via WiFi useing Luban.

Any ideas?

Regards
Lukasz

Congratulations… I hope you’ll make something wonderful with your new machine.
Perhaps upgrade to latest Cura, uninstall the plug in then re install it. Disconnect from any VPN. Make sure they’re both on the same network.

To add the Bambu Lab Artisan or any specific 3D printer profile to Cura, you generally need to manually configure it, as Cura may not have built-in profiles for every printer. Here’s how to add the Artisan:

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Open Cura: Launch the Cura software on your computer.
  2. Add a New Printer:
  • Go to Settings > Printer > Add Printer.
  • In the Add Printer menu, select Custom and then Custom FFF Printer.
  1. Name the Printer:
  • Rename the custom printer to something like “Bambu Lab Artisan” for easy identification.
  1. Configure Printer Settings:
  • Under the Machine Settings for your new custom printer, enter the basic specifications of the Artisan, which you can find in its documentation or manual. These include:
    • X, Y, and Z Axis build volume (printable area dimensions)
    • Nozzle size (usually 0.4mm)
    • Heated bed specifications (if available)
    • Firmware type, if applicable.
  1. Fine-Tune Print Settings:
  • Set specific values for layer height, initial layer height, printing speed, infill density, and any other Artisan-specific settings. You can create profiles for PLA, ABS, or other filament types typically used with the Artisan.
  1. Save the Profile:
  • Once configured, save this printer profile. Cura will now retain these settings, and you can select “Bambu Lab Artisan” as your printer for future slicing jobs.
  1. Test and Adjust:
  • Run test prints and make further adjustments to settings like flow rate, retraction, and fan speeds as needed for optimal performance.

Adding the Artisan manually lets you customize settings for the best print quality with Cura.
