Does anyone already use the hardened steel nozzles? If so, what settings should be altered? Temp, flow? I am planning to install them right away when my printer arrives, instead of the standard ones.
I replaced the nozzle with a hardened one and printed with it without any adjustments (except setting the temperatures according to the specifications on the filament spool for the new material, Sunlu PLA Wood, Support PETG). The result was very good. It doesn’t look any worse to me than the other prints.
After the nozzle swap, I performed the full calibration, as if it were the first time out of the box, and also ran the automatic dynamic flow rate calibration.
I’m a beginner, so maybe the experts can provide some improvement tips. For me, it worked relatively foolproof…
I have always used the same settings for SS and HS hot ends, never noticed a difference. There is only one setting in Snorca to select SS or HS and I think that is just for reference and really does nothing. I imbed magnets in a lot of my models so prefer SS not grabbing the magnets.
Thank you
I installed mine last night and posted a similar question. @Simon_Zhi replied with
“I think you should calibrate the bed and each toolhead nozzle coordinate as you did when you first got the machine.”
@LutzHB seems like you’re on the right path! Also, that owl looks amazing ![]()

@leenanj thanks for the info on SnOrca. That was also a question of mine. I usually press fit my magnets but using SS nozzles is a great idea!
