Hardened Nozzles

@Orbnotacus Snapmaker uses MK8 style M6x1.0 threads. Among one of the most common and widely available. Just get a nozzle that matches that and you’re good to go.

This one works 100% without adjusting the sensor
I’m using them for months now.

Thanks everyone, this helped loads!

@Lone_Shark00 this nozzle is the exception lol. There is one other out there and it looks funky. But it works.

no question that carbide is really good for tooling, but for that kinda money may as well spring for something classier.

Olsson Ruby MK8 Nozzle - 1.75mm x 0.40mm | MatterHackers

I would like to know if the carbide or ruby would be better to be honest.

@MooseJuice avoid that ruby nozzle, I bought one and cut it in half vertically to see what the quality was actually like, it’s bad… like really bad. The inside finish of the brass was so rough it felt like sandpaper, it’s like they took the cheapest of the cheap brass nozzle they could find, bored it out and stuck a ruby inside. The only thing I would buy that for is if you wanted the ruby itself for something else lol.

Hehe no worries i have no desire to get one.

@MooseJuice I now have a random ruby, maybe i’ll stick it in the center of the wheel for my pirate ship that is the first print off.

This thing works great! Thank you!

Were you able to use auto-calibrate with this nozzle without it hitting the bed?

Yes, the difference is only about 0.5 mm.

Awesome thanks! I was worried about going thru a manual calibration every time I moved the bed!
