Fitting rotary module to wasteboard

Just got my rotary module and was considering fitting it to a spare wasteboard so I don’t have to unscrew the base from the board every time.

I see there are 6 screw holes down the centre of the wasteboard which would normally attach to the bed, the rotary module covers these. Has anyone used a wasteboard in this manner without these 6 screws, has it made a difference as the board is held in place with 16 other screws?

Has nobody done this?

Yups,

I have. Do note I am using this setup for some now: Idea for quick switch bed: feedback requested

So I attach my buildplates/boards (cnc, laser 3d printing) using magnets to the base frame. And one of the plates I’ve created is one specific for the rotary module:

Haven’t used it a lot yet (only very recently got it, Christmas impulse buy :innocent:) but should work without issues. I have the same for plain cnc work and that works perfectly fine for me.

So I have now have replicated what Idid with my cnc wasteboard.

I have glued the wasteboard to a spare magnetic sheet and fitted the rotary module with 10 screws to the wasteboard.

Once connected by the magnetic sheet I will clamp the 4 corners to ensure it does not move. Works for cnc without issue.
