Guys, with all the unknown variables, I didn’t think it would come out so well on the first attempt.
I am very happy with it. Just bought some unbranded (about $25 delivered from ebay) (Black pla+)
Bed 80C/70C. 75% infill. (this depends on your project) Standard quality settings for the rest.
When calibrating, go a fraction down so the test paper bends (and won’t move forward)
I bent the bed when job finished (still 70C) and it basically just peeled off perfectly.
The brim kept it all in one piece to pull off.
cheers.
awesome story and matches my experience too.
i have found staying within the 4x4 grid and right and left edges to be reliable, only lower left corner of bed has had adhesions issues for me (haven’t retested after 11x11 level).
I agree with your observation on z-offset - i go down by 5mm until it is about to pinch paper, then down by 1mm until it pinches the paper and you feel tension, then i go up by increments of .05 until the included paper pulls and push smoothly, then down by .05 increments until the paper bends on a push
also folks hold the paper EXACTLY like it is shown in the manual (between your fingers) when doing this, if you place your fingers flat on it the test won’t be valid and you will calibrate your head too close to the surface IMO.
