Another thought, isn’t your U1 a presale unit? That might account for Ethernet not working with an USB ethernet adapter.
I just haven’t tried it again since probably v0.9.

Can you share which USB-to-Ethernet adapter are you using. Assuming that not all chips will work.

This one is supposed to work. Ordered but returned since my WLAN works perfect. (LAN mode only) Amazon.de

I used the LevelOne USB-0401 dongle, which I happened to have on hand. Everything worked perfectly fine with it, even with the latest firmware. However, I did encounter one problem: the firmware can only be updated via Wi-Fi, as the printer doesn’t recognize that it’s connected to the internet via the dongle…
