Hi, is it possible yo make such engraving with the snapmaker, and is it better with CNC or laser?
I fear you will have to use the cnc function with the upcoming rotary module.
Sounds the only solution, any idea which month it will be released?
I mean, the rotary module is the best solution, but it’s not the only solution.
Spin indexers allow for manual rotations, and then a series of gcode programs would be run (or 1 program with pauses in between to allow time to rotate the workpiece).
I don’t think it’s a good solution for this machine, but just wanted to mention.
As far as release date, it was supposed to be by year’s end I believe, but that was around the time the linear module issues started becoming more numerous, I’m assuming it’s been delayed.
So you might say it will be in time for Christmas
But only if you don’t mention the year
This mod may also come in useful
Although I don’t think it will be up to the job of CNC!
Thanks guysfor the info
I came to post the same thing.
The description does mention adding some electrical tape for extra grip. That might be enough to allow CNC with very shallow depth changes.
I’d definitely experiment on large wooden dowels from your neighborhood big box store before I tried it on a nice rolling pin.
