CNC for artisan_max Workarea?_clamping big wood paneel

Hi everyone,

Maybe it’s a stupid question, but I’m having some issues with the CNC platform. I want to cut a panel measuring 31 x 31 cm. When I place the panel on the platform, I can only use the fixing points in the middle on the top and bottom. (see image attach). This means that I can’t fix the panel at the edges, only somewhere in the middle. I also don’t understand how to use the fixing points on the right and left of the platform because, when I try, the clamps go outside the platform and will damage the Z-axis of the machine. Maybe I’m missing something, but I can’t figure out how to use the entire work area of the CNC machine.

I drill holes and screw my workpiece directly into the platform or use some wood as adapter piece if the clamps are not useable.

I think the most users here are not using the clamps. For me, i created a plate with a hole pattern and using stuff for a workbench like bench dogs. Like this here:

Holding from the top is not usable in most CNC jobs without wasting lot of wood for “clamps space”.

Ah, OK, thanks for the reply. I managed to do what I wanted, but the clamps are indeed not very good for big job. I’ll try with a hole next time.
