CNC fill inside the lines with wide bit

Hi,
It seems that all the CNC options (path, contour, fill). all work with the path as the centre of the tool bit. Is there a way to use a wide bit (3.175mm) to do a wide cut, but have it stay “inside the lines” of the path… I would have thought the point of entering the bit width was to do this exact thing, but it still seems to only use the path as the centre point of the bit.

In this particular case, I’m working with text, so there’s not “centre path” (or at least, not easily created). If I can use the wide bit, I can engrave in one wide cut.

Any suggestions or advice welcome.

Unfortunately Luban really falls short in this area. It will do it with fill but there are no adjustments for how it follows a path or outline.
You’re going to need to another program like Fusion 360, Easel or Carbide Create.

And 3 years later nothing has changed.
But, Luban has been updated many times to include new features for new machines…
