Has anyone tried using bowl bits on the Artisan 200w CNC? If so what speeds? Trying on oak, pretty sure I just had fusion 360 set up wrong and was trying to plunge too fast.
Do you perchance have a tool library entry for the bit? If so, Fusion does a good job regarding calculating speeds if it has tool data. If not, perhaps you can find spec’s from the bit vendor and create a library entry yourself. Finally, 200W spindle power is not too much in the milling business, and Fusion indeed is too optimistic often with plunge/step down rates. Never having used a bowl bit, I can only say that for end mills I keep step-downs below 2 mm (meaning slow-going unfortunately), less even for hard wood. Also, plunge I try to do slow - and I use spiral/helix patterns.
