I am trying to carve a helix groove in a wooden spindle.
The preview model in Luban shows a very rough edge compared to that which is drawn in the original model. And seems to be how it tries to cut.
How can this be controlled for a smooth cut?
I was hoping somebody else that knows what they’re doing would chime in, but it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen. I’ve never done a CNC project before.
Can you upload the source file (or a link if you can’t upload here)? I can at least play with it in Luban and see if I can figure something out, even if I don’t know what I’m doing.
Your welcome to have a go Craig.

What is your image density set to?
Higher = more detail.

Image density is set at the highest - 20. If you try to set higher it defaults to 20…
That was only thing I could think of.
I don’t have 4th axis so don’t know what else to suggest.

I tried, but apparently I really don’t know what I’m doing here. I ended up with a piece about 2cm tall with a figure eight carved out internally? I was just kinda winging it, since I have a v1, and it doesn’t support the 4th axies. Sorry.
