I have an A350 and I’m considering getting the new 10W laser. My son has the snapmaker original so I was thinking of gifting him my 1600mw laser. Would he be able to use it? Would he need to update his firmware to get it to work? Does the laser need to be modded?
Can’t be used on an original.

Never mind. Differently controlled says it all.
They were planning to make an adapter that would let the v2 use a v1’s parts. But as far as I can tell, they stopped talking about it after the v2 left kickstarter. It’s not a great idea anyway, the v2 tools are all more capable than the v1’s tools.
There was never any discussion (outside the fan-fic section of the forums) about a v1 using v2 parts.
Thanks @clewis it’s a shame that they are charging so much for upgrades considering how current customers got them to where they are today.
