Biggest bits the SM2 can handle?

I know it uses a standard ER11 collet, so you could go get a 3/4in ER11 collet but could the SM2 really handle a 3/4in bit?

Is it only recommended to stick with with 1/8in collet and bits?

Are you talking bit head size or shank size?

5/16" is the largest size of ER11 collet.
1/4" is largest size of shank that the SM can hold.
To use a bit other than 1/8" you would need to buy an appropriately sized ER11 collet.

Okay, so I could get the collet listed here: amazon page and get some 1/4 shank bits for it to use?

Can the motor in the SM2 CNC module feasibly drive 1/4 shank bits? I don’t know how powerful it really is I guess.

I have no problem running 1/4" end mill and v-bits.
I usually keep my step down to .5mm for oak and maple. Could probably be able to push it to 1mm, but usually when I’m using the 1/4" I’m surfacing or clearing paths and I want it to be clean and smooth.
I want to try using a spoilboard bit, but haven’t had the chance yet. I don’t know if I’d have to slow the work speed down so much that it would negate any size advantage it had.
