Artisan 40W Laser Issues

Hi all,
As heads up, to easily use the included hold downs with the 40W, I just sanded off the protruding portion of the the screw heads, if you sand down to the knurled portion it works fine. You could definitely still file a groove into the sanded head to have the screwdriver tightening option as well

Sorry!
Further context before anyone tries this.
I’ve also been using two cheap squares I put holes into instead of the plastic hold downs, I find for the things I have been doing down pressure hasn’t been required and lightly sandwiching the piece works well.

As a side note, I came to the forum today to see if anyone else had issues with rust/buildup on the laser bed. Only halfway through cleaning in the picture so I might not have this issue soon

I have ordered now a cheap honeycomb surface, this will come with some pins to fix the material.
Let’s see how that goes.

Can you please share any links and photos?

You can get tons of them on eBay, e.g. this one:

It arrived today and included also a metal plate to put underneath. The workmanship is good and the honecomb is black.
Some laser manufacturers are selling it as well for a lot more, but i think they only put their logos on it and they all come from the same manufacturer

RE: Laser Height After purchasing my 40w module recently I was almost a victim with the orange acrylic clipping the fixtures, DAM lucky it didn’t do any damage. This information, having to use masking tape should of being provide in writing along with the 40w module in the BOX not chasing information in a forum. Marketing need to sort this out!

Just saw this, thanks!
