n the Luban software, version 3.12.2, Laser use.
I add a new font, 4803_Kwang_MD.ttf, in all programms here in windows available.
Entering text in Luban SW 3.12.3 does not show in the Edit page the right font,
Switch to the Process page, the right font will be shown.
If the hook on Fill is not set, the full font will shown and can be grave right.
But if I will Fill Density use, the characters will be cut outside the blue square.
The blue square can not be adjust.
There are still no useful text functions.
I read that them was before available.
Why would these be removed? These are ESSENTIAL text functions.
Same here. In previous versions the text functions have worked very well but since around 3.10 the text that I create in Edit mode does not transfer correctly into Preview mode. Here is an example.
NB: I use a Mid-2015 Macbook Pro with OS 11.0.1 and a Snapmaker Original
Yeah there appears to be some sort of caching issue. I added a new font and used it in one project, and it shows correctly. Then I started another project with a different font; it shows up correctly in Edit, but shows the font from the other project in the Process view.
Can I recommend using something like Inkscape to make your artwork, converting text to lines, then burning the result?
Luban is kind of simplistic and probably doesnt know how to handle fonts outside of the basics very well.
Luban should be thought of as a work in progress and a conduit to send the machine files from better software at this time, however they just had a new release with some fixes and changes this morning. (beta on the forum) maybe if you want you can try that out
Depending on where you got the font from there also can be a lot of problems that might not show up in other programs but will appear in Luban.
You’ll have a lot more control over your text in a real program. Fonts never automatically space properly. I work a lot with fonts and graphics in my job and every font and bit of text needs manual adjustment to get the spacing right.
There is a new Luban out that has fixed a few things. You can try and see if it makes a difference.
