A-350 won't turn on with x-gantry plugged in

Hey guys, original Kickstarter a-350 user here. I’ve got an issue that has sidelined my printer for awhile now where when I flick the power supply on it would boot for a few seconds then trip off and repeat this cycle indefinitely. Finally decided to troubleshoot and found it boots uninterrupted with the x-gantry unplugged. On closer inspection of the x-gantry plug I see one pin is black (see attached photo)

My question is has anyone else experienced this? I’m operating under the assumption I need a replacement gantry but also don’t want to find out the issue is the main controller after the fact. Any thoughts/experience would be appreciated.

How is the mating pin?

The plug on the controller has no visible issue, and I can plug the Y/Z gantry into the x plug and not have an issue. I think that sufficiently narrows it down to a failure in the x-gantry. I’ve ordered a replacement.

Has anyone else experienced this? Anything I should do in the future that might help prevent this kind of failure?

You said you ordered a replacement. The Linear rails changed a while back. I assume you have the original rails being a Kickstarter. Did you order the new rail type from the store? I don’t think it will work in conjunction with the old Y rails…
X and Y rails are different now, and not interchangeable.
