10 Years of Snapmaker — Thank You for Being Part of the Journey

Hi everyone,

This month marks Snapmaker’s 10th anniversary. It’s been a long journey from the early days to where we are now, and the community has been a big part of it. From early backers to recent users sharing their projects, we’ve learned a lot from you along the way.

To mark the occasion, we’re running a site-wide anniversary campaign on our official store from June 9 to July 10. The campaign includes special offers across selected products, including a limited-time anniversary price of $849 for the U1.

If you’ve been part of this journey in any way — thank you. And if you’d like, feel free to share a project or memory you associate with Snapmaker in the comments.

Dear Sir

As Snapmaker Original owner, and user since just weeks after the machine came out, I am appealing to you for spares. While I am still using all aspects of my machine on a regular basis, I am conscious that the machine seems to be no longer supported either in firmware updates or spare parts. You must have a dusty cupboard somewhere with spare parts including laser or printer modules.

Also is there a hidden web page with firmware updates? So far I have had only minor glitches while using Luban though I am probably using a well out of date version as I am wary of updating that, as it is no doubt designed for current machines.

Built in obsolescence is all very well but as a pensioner I will try to keep my Snapmaker Original running for as long as possible.

While I am an advocate for Snapmaker in general and show off my machine to anyone interested, I do think it is disappointing that it is no longer supported (as far as I can see).

Most of my prints, cnc, laser projects have been very well recieved over the years, from machine parts and connecters to drinks mats and mother’s day cards. I just hope that the quality of the machine continues to allow me to continue to produce pieces for a number of years to come.

I would just ask Snapmaker to consider those people who have been with you from the early days.

Yours sincerely

Bryan Parkinson

Hi, for spare parts, you can reach out to the technical support to check availability:

Fellow Original owner here.

Aside from the various heads, which parts are you having trouble with? Over the years, we’ve had various posts about replacement parts, even power. There have also been posts about how to maintain the linear rails.

I suspect there isn’t much left in the dusty cabinet. When they started phasing out the Original for the 2.0, most of the spare parts in the store were out of stock, and never came back before they disappeared. But as Zoe said, the only way to be sure is to ask.

Thanks for your message. Currently my Snapmaker Original is behaving very well. However I am aware lasers even with careful use have a limited life and I would like to hedge my bets and have a spare 1600 mw head. I bought a number of spare nozzles for my 3D print head while they were still available and treat the head with kid gloves - again touchwood, it is still working well but again if I come across a 3d print head I will snap it up - no pun intended. I will post on the forum to see if anyone has spares on this side of the planet.
