Wispy filament issues & inconsistent amounts

My U1 arrived VERY well packaged. My compliments to who ever came up with the packaging.
Setup was easy, and it was up and running in no time.

I am having a few issues though…

  1. I do a lot of plaques. They are printed upside down with the writing on the bed. Well, she leaves a lot of snail trails when moving around. So far, I’ve had to baby sit the first later to get rid of those wisps of filament.

  2. It looks like she’s laying more of one filament over another. So let’s say I have a letter that’s outlined in one color and filled with another. The outline will be higher than the fill or vice versa. Tried to show this in the photo. You can see, the white is lower than the red. Note, this is all the filament that came with the printer, so it’s the built in profiles via the RFID tag.

  1. I believe that same issues is showing up on my multicolor prints. Some areas that I painted, and print fine on the A1 and K2, aren’t getting completely colored on the U1. So some of the color behind the coloring is showing through. Tried to put photos here, but I am a “new user” and it will only allow me to do a single embed.

I do have a support ticket in with Snapmaker. But wondering if anyone else is having some of the same issues.

You didn’t mention if you ran any of the Calibration options that are available. There’s the startup Calibration as well as in Snapmaker Orca, if you are using their Slicer. If you haven’t, maybe start there while waiting for Support to respond.

If these are self-painted, I wonder if the U1/Snapmaker Orca “responds” more accurately to the paint job…?

Thanks. It is self painted and I ran all the calibration before and during the print.

Not sure this matters but I tend not to print models I have to paint in a Slicer. When I design models for printing, I upload all components as individual parts for proper coloring but not everyone chooses to do so… :sign_of_the_horns::sign_of_the_horns:

Appreciate the reply. Unfortunately, that’s not really going to work for me. I do a bit of painting in the slicer and haven’t seen this on my other printers. It isn’t a show stopper for me, but would like to get this ironed out by Snapmaker. I’m sure we have a lot of firmware updates coming.
