Where did the Backup go to once performed using the menu function in Luban?
Especially on a Linux system.
I know where the config files are, but no indication about the created backup.
Thoughts?

On my Mac, it’s under ~/Library/Application Support/snapmaker-luban/snapmaker-recover/Config-{version}, where {version} is the version of Luban from which you saved it. Since macOS and Linux are both based on Unix, the locations should be somewhat similar.
I think TheBum is correct, but just in case, on my W10 PC it’s in my user home directory as follows:
c:\users\stu\AppData\Roaming\snapmaker-luban\Config
For Linux this might be
~\AppData\Roamin\snapmaker-luban\Config
I think ~ is the user home directory in Linux
Linux does not have an /AppData/Roaming/ directory. This is a Windows specific folder only.
The directory is similar in Linux, but not the same. There it is stored under ~/.config/snapmaker-luban/snapmaker-recover.
I found that already, but that are automatically created folder once you launch Luban. Later they are updated based on the version.
I think this is an internal backup to avoid crashed profiles, but it is not the backup i would expect using the function in the menu.
I tried the other folders where application data is usually stored (e.g. /usr/share etc.) but nothing.
I also do not get a visual confirmation that a backup was done. I would expect Luban tells me where it is stored.
For sure i can simply take the folder ~/.config/snapmaker-luban/Config folder and copy it to somewhere as a backup.
But i was wondering what the backup function in the menu does.
I just did a test of the Backup function and the files are saved in Config-4.11.0 (I’m running Luban 4.11.0, of course). I had the folder open in list mode in the macOS Finder and all the files were dated 3 days ago. As soon as I selected Backup, they all went to the current date and time.
The files in Config-active are the current working files. Their date/time stamps changed as soon as I opened the app.
The whole path of the config backup on macOS is {user}/Library/Application Support/snapmaker-luban/snapmaker-recover/Config-4.11.0. Linux should be similar.
Meanwhile i found it.
On Linux it is different:
/home/(user)/.config/snapmaker-luban/snapmaker-recover/
But that is nothing special. The folder contain the same content as the Config folder itself. i have set up a sync process doing a sync of that folder to a network drive, so i do not need to store the recover folder.
Thanks and well done! That’s useful info as I hope to set up a Linux (distro) workstation in the coming weeks. Any suggestions welcome, cheers.
I have tested almost all main distributions. It depends a bit on what you want to achieve. Finally it doesn’t matter what you are using, the GUI and the used applications are more important.
If you want to know more, give me details what you are interested in. And don’t make the mistake trusting the reviews on distrowatch.org
They are crap.
