I have not heard good things about endurance lasers.
I know several people with them, they all say the same “they are ok but I wish I bought…”
That is great news, I’m sorry for them, but as a community I know we can work this out. The faceplate looks like it will fit a lot of different lasers. If not, it is a 3D printer, we can print a holder. I’m not the electrical engineering guy to find the signal in the PWR. As I have said, I don’t use Luban for laser work (or 3D work) but I think we can figure it out and come up with a superior design.
I am sure the endurance laser can be fitted without much effort, but i think a lot of people are wanting to rig their own laser too
i havent even tried my laser yet
Hi guys,
I have tried the laser. I agree with the software it is not there yet. I also would like to more powerful laser to cut thicker material and engraving on metals.
You could always put This on it! That will give you more power XD
Some of them would probably cutting the the laserbed. Muhahahah
That is not too expensive.
Could you use this as a hand held for cutting things like a plasma cutter?
That looks like a hell of a fun toy to me.
You could but i would not recommend it. why not just get a plasma cutter? fiber lasers are super dangerous to your eyes… it would take less then a minute of ambient exposure from that laser to permanently damage your eyes…
Because i am insane!
im not actually going to do this. but… it sounds fun.
Well because you asked, and said the password (insane) Here you go
I am seriously thinking of putting a 500w fiber on my next build though… others have hooked up plasma cutters to theirs… but I like the idea of being able to engrave more then just cut through plate steel.
I would like to be able to cut metal and engrave metal.
I have applications for both uses.
We have a laser cutter vendor I can get whatever i need from on the cheap but its not as fun. He can’t engrave though.
He is our favorite vendor and we are buddies
Yeah I had one in the shop where I worked… but decided to leave for almost double the pay… but I want to do it in my garage… and when the zombie apocalypse comes I want to be able to turn it into a home laser defense system XP
I too am preparing.
I’ve been saving aluminum cans and brass to smelt down.
And I have like 12 more trash bags in the garage… but I’m going to have to get rid of them for my new 4’x4’ machine
whoa 4’ x 4’ machine thats dope!
i hope i get there someday… still trying to understand the thing i have more.
It costs less the the SM including a 7w laser and a 1hp router… but it doesn’t 3d print and it’s all build it yourself.
I’ll make a build thread in the off topic category soo
I have a K40 in my garage - i dont think it’s too hard to combine the snapmaker and the K40 tube - only the liquid cooling needs space.
