Useful PETG guide

Quick question. Do you have to do any physical modifications to the printer for this to work? Also is it flexible as pla flex?
Kind Regards
Vas

No modifications needed. Donā€™t know PLA flex but PETG is similar to ABS but easier to handle.

Please have a look at following table:

Itā€™s a long read but I found this very useful when tuning for PETG : http://forum.makergear.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=2593
Essentially you need to slow the printing speed down and increase retraction for best results.

Hi TheBum! One question about this tower.
How to send the instruction for temperature changing during the printing?
I would like to make a test, but i donā€™t know how to set a variable temperatureā€¦

Hereā€™s the tower I use now. Itā€™s parametric, so you can customize it to whatever temperatures you want.

Any ideas ? Why is this happening ?

Print temp initial layer 220
Plate 60
initial layser:
speed 30 mm/s
height 0,3mm
width 100%

Maybe a more loose bed leveling.
Stay below 0,30 mm layer height. It should work with 0,20 mm very good.
With my PET-G I start with 230-235Ā°C and print with 225-230Ā°C
1st layer better below 20 mm/s
Use a skirt at least 1 line
The right temperature and not too close leveling are the keys for 1st layer addhesion.

The temperature ranges are resulting from the color of the filament. I noticed that the gap between two colors can be more than 10Ā°C too.

Hmm,
I used
230 print temp
with 150% Initial Layer Line Width
and
110 % flow compensator for the extruder

with a much better result.

Will try with lower initial lyer height and post the results.

tnx for the reply
