Unwanted Support Type

Hello to all,

after a while i wanted to create a pipe.
So i used blender to design it, no big deal.

Used it before and prints worked well.

Now, i wanted to print that pipe but it puts a unwanted hardened support layer (yellow coloured) in the print.

Somebody who can solve that problem?

Looks like it tried to “fix” the open end on your model. You can either set top/bottom layers to 0, or if you don’t mind uploading the model or specs for the model, someone here could repair/rebuild from scratch.

Thanks for your answer.

here the files:

Adapter Abluft.stl (28.2 KB)

The trick with top / bottom layers i will try as well.

(At the moment i print laserbed clamps)

Yep, when you made the model, the lofted section has an outer wall, but no inner wall. Thus the slicer tries to repair it by simply filling it in.

I’ve pulled what specs I could off it and recreated it in F360.

Thanks, i will try it when i did the other printing.

Can you explain how’d you find out , to not make such an mistake again ?

For 3D printing, I use Prusaslicer. I loaded it up and saw the blue edge, and when test repairing it simply filled in that sloped area. So I broke the item into parts and moved the top section up and found the lack of inner wall.

I tried to set top and bottom layer to 0 like you said @Skreelink .

It works!

Great

Glad to hear it worked.
