U1 Forge — convert any Bambu/Prusa/MakerWorld .3mf to work on the U1 toolchanger

Every multicolor .3mf on Bambu, Prusa, and MakerWorld is built for their printers — different tool slot mapping, different material assignments. Download one and open it in Orca for the U1 and the colors are wrong or it won’t slice at all.

Built a browser tool that fixes this. U1 Forge takes any .3mf from those ecosystems and remaps it for the U1’s 4-tool-slot architecture.

How it works:

  1. Drop a .3mf file (from Bambu, Prusa, MakerWorld, wherever)
  2. The tool reads the material assignments and remaps them to U1-compatible tool slots
  3. Export a new .3mf that Orca Slicer understands with correct per-tool color assignments

Four modes built in:

  • Convert — straight remap from source format to U1 tool slots
  • Chroma — color-region painting with filament picker
  • Texture — surface texture application
  • Cut — model cutting and sectioning

No install. Runs entirely in the browser. No uploads to any server — your files stay on your machine.

First use is free. After that, exports are 40 ink ($2.00). 50% of every paid export goes into an optional weekly community contest — opt your piece in, community votes at the end of the week, winner takes the pool.

This is the companion to Spectrum Forge (which creates NEW multicolor .3mf files from images). U1 Forge handles the other direction — taking existing multicolor files from other ecosystems and making them work on the U1.

Works with any toolchanger running Orca Slicer but built specifically for U1 owners who want access to the massive Bambu/MakerWorld multicolor library.

All features are launch-based and prices/offerings subject to change as we grow. Happy to answer questions about the conversion process or 3MF structure.
