Toolheads won't seat fully - small red dot never disappears

After about a month of use, I disassembled all four toolheads for cleaning — cleaned them, lubricated the parts that needed it, and cleaned underneath as well. Then I reinstalled all four.

Initially, all four toolheads seated correctly and the red indicator dot disappeared completely on every one — Toolhead 1 behaved exactly like Toolhead 2, both perfectly fine.

However, when the printer runs a device calibration (which automatically picks up each toolhead and re-parks it), I noticed a problem: after the printer picks up Toolhead 1 and places it back down, the red dot appears again, as if it isn’t seated properly — even though it was fine before that pick-and-place cycle.

With Toolhead 3, the issue is worse — the red dot never disappears at all, no matter how many times I manually remove and reinstall it.

I tried printing with Toolhead 3 anyway, thinking the issue might be cosmetic and not actually affect performance. But partway through the print, it failed to park correctly after a tool change, and I had to stop the print and manually reseat it myself. Since then, I haven’t been able to reliably print with either Toolhead 1 or Toolhead 3.

I’ve gone through the official Snapmaker Wiki and YouTube troubleshooting guides, but none of the suggested steps have resolved the issue. I’ve tried everything I can think of — readjusting the latch, reseating the toolhead multiple times, checking the locating pins — but the problem persists.

Has anyone else experienced this, especially after the pick-and-park calibration? What else can I try before requesting a replacement part?

Here is the wiki about, hope it helps:

What is the photo showing, because that looks OK to me. My U1 is busy at the moment, but I managed to get this shot of parked heads:

If you mean this:

…that isn’t anything to worry about, the red flag would be obvious if the toolhead were fitted incorrectly. The key point is that the round pin is to the left of the thick vertical bar. From Snapmaker’s Quick Start Guide:

My recommendation is to start with a Factory Reset full recalibration, then if it is still troublesome perform the manual adjustment of toolhead coordinates as per Kopf wird mehrfach aufgenommen - #15 by ColdCoffee

Did you run a FULL calibration once you refitted the heads as its required?

Possible either the heads are not lined up with the parking pin correctly and are hitting it?

There is an option to do this in the maintenance section of the menu

TBH you have said you took the heads apart for “cleaning” have you put them back together incorrectly since its only happened since you did said cleaning?

The only reason I would ever take a toolhead apart is for an error msg like stuck filament etc & would be surprised if SM agreed to replace the heads as this sadly looks like user error (but hopefully a simple fix)
