Sharing a tool I built for my workflow. The problem it solves: once you have set up a multi-color or Full Spectrum print, that color work is locked inside the .3mf. Nothing else reads it, so exporting for a render, a listing photo, or a Blender scene hands you gray mesh and a materials rebuild.
Printproof reads a U1 .3mf and exports it four ways with every color zone intact:
- GLB, one PBR material per zone, for Blender, Unity, or any web viewer
- OBJ, per-vertex colors, single self-contained file, opens in MeshMixer and imports back into Bambu Studio
- USDZ for iOS, plus in-page AR on Android, at true print size
- A re-tinted
.3mfthat drops straight back into the U1 slicing workflow
You can recolor any zone live in 3D before exporting, so testing filament combinations does not mean re-slicing each time.
The Full Spectrum support is the part I am most pleased with. The virtual-extruder blends are pigment mixes, not tints, so I had to model pigment mixing rather than average RGB to make the output agree with what the slicer shows you, and the extruder enumeration follows the slicer’s own rules for which filament rows count.
