June 1st is Snapmaker’s 8th Anniversary. :partying_face:The theme of our celebration this year is Play Well. :video_game:Play Well reminds us of our youth, of fun and exploration, and why we started Snapmaker in the first place. We invite you to join the Print and Play Challenge :rocket:

The challenge is simple:

:game_die: Print something you can play with: Toys, games, sports equipment, musical instruments - anything you can play with. (Bonus points if you can also use the Laser or CNC functions of your Snapmaker!)

:hugs: Play with your creation, inviting your friends and family to join you so you can enjoy the wonderful things you’ve made - together.

:clapper: Film a video, 1-3 minutes long, documenting:
a. What you made.

b. How you made it.

c. Who you played with!

:calling: Upload your video to YouTube using the hashtag #snapmakervideocontest, and then submit the link to the widget below.

:mag_right: Be sure to highlight the design and thought behind your creation, as well as the final result.

:calendar: We invite you to join us in this challenge, starting on Mother’s Day (12 May 2024), ending on Father’s Day (16 June 2024, Midnight UTC+8), and offering a special bonus for submitting your entry before our 8th Anniversary Celebration on June 1st!

:gift: Special Bonus: The Snapmaker Team will choose 5 videos submitted before June 1st to highlight on our website and show during our 8th Anniversary Celebration!

We are thrilled to announce the winners of Snapmaker’s Print & Play Challenge!

A big thank you to everyone who participated, your submissions for the 8th Snapmaker Anniversary Video Contest truly captured the spirit of PLAY WELL, helping us reclaim that spirit of fun and exploration that inspired us to build Snapmaker in the first place.

Let’s check out the 3 top scoring submissions, and welcome them to the Snapmaker Test Pilot Program – a special program for Snapmaker VIPs to help us test new prototype products before they’re released!

PS1 Classic Playable Diorama

Winner: @GenerationY-fi GenerationY-fi amazed us with their detailed and nostalgic PS1 Classic Playable Diorama. This is a truly excellent video with a fun little storyline, excellent design and craftwork, and captures the essence of the original PlayStation in a miniature, playable form. Congratulations on your well-deserved victory!

Saturn V

Winner: @WhiskyClubCanada WhiskyClubCanada took us to new heights with their stunning Saturn V model – a real, working “Snapmaker-V” rocket!! The attention to detail and craftsmanship in recreating this iconic space vehicle, launch facilities, and super cool controller are truly out of this world. Well done!

Incredible Catan Board

Winner: @erikbfriedman Erikbfriedman wowed us with their Incredible Catan Board. The Snapmaker’s 3D Printing, CNC, and Laser functions combined into creating an amazing base for the project, and your additional work such as painting, flocking, and other odds and ends made this a truly special piece. We hope you and your family enjoy your boardgame nights together!

Once again, congratulations to all the winners and a huge thank you to everyone who participated. We look forward to seeing more of your amazing projects in future contests!
