Tempreture of Dynamic Flow Calibration

I’ve noticed that U1 always uses 220 celsius by default for Dynamic Flow Calibration, but this temperature is too low for PETG and too high for PLA. A 10-degree Celsius change is enough to affect the PA value, which is why some people may experience a significant difference between the automatic calibration values and the manual calibration values.

Should calibration temperature options be provided for consumables? Or should the default calibration temperature remain at 220 degrees, but with a G-code command that allows users to set the temperature for use in Fluidd?

Update:

I checked the printer’s configuration file and found that you can change the flow calibration temperature in Fluidd by modifying the `snapmaker/filament_parameters.json` in configure panel. To do this, edit the “flow_temp” value for the corresponding filament in the file, then restart Klipper for the changes to take effect.

I can’t answer this directly as I never use/used DFC as I prefer to properly calibrate each filament type manually from within OrcaSlicerusing the top 5;

Temperature

Max flow

Pressure advance

Flow ratio

Retraction

That way I’m in control of all the settings & /personally/ find I get much better results?

Manual calibration usually yields the best results, but automatic calibration can reduce the workload involved in loading different filament into different printheads.

Exactly. If you go for quality, do it yourself and use the typical tools to do the filament calibration.

You can watch the DFC during start phase of printing on Klippers webpage. You will also see the result, i.e. which K Value is used. You could compare this with the result of your manual testing.

One thing I might consider, use the same fiament/brand as much as possible. don’t go for the cheapest.

One thing I noticed about this is that it uses 255 for generic petg but 220 for generic petg-hf

Oh, I see. That’s something I hadn’t noticed. I usually choose PETG HF for my PETG filament.
