Added Print Preferences, which enable Spaghetti Detection and Foreign Object Detection. These features help you identify anomalies during printing and take timely action.
Added a one-click auto-zoom and camera pan feature
Added a one-click auto-zoom and camera pan feature that instantly reframes the view to display all models in the scene or focus on the selected model(s).
Added Color Mixing Match Mapping
It automatically generates an optimal color matching solution within the reliable color gamut for multi-color models (especially those with more than 4 colors).
Added a new process preset for color mixing: 0.10mm Color Mixing @Snapmaker U1 (0.4 nozzle).
Added support for Snapmaker PLA Full Spectrum, compatible with 0.2 mm and 0.6 mm nozzles.
Note:
Select the built-in “Snapmaker PLA Full Spectrum” parameter package to use the color mixing feature and achieve better printing results.
We recommend using a hot end of 0.4 mm or smaller, combined with a layer height of 0.1 mm or less. Using a larger hot end or higher layer height may result in visible layer lines on the final print.
Optimized the color matching algorithm for filament synchronization.
Optimized Viewport Rendering Performance.
Enhanced viewport rendering efficiency by culling out-of-view geometry, reducing unnecessary draw calls and improving overall responsiveness.
Bug Fixes
Fixed an issue where the software crashed during full-bed slicing on Windows/Linux due to excessive memory usage. A memory protection mechanism has been added to prompt you before proceeding with full-bed slicing.
Fixed a bed temperature compatibility issue when using multiple filaments with different required bed temperatures. The system now defaults to the higher temperature.
Fixed an issue where Orca crashed when using the Full Bed Arrangement function.
Fixed an issue where the Match mode ratio display was incorrect after switching tabs in the Color Mixing interface.
Fixed an issue where the interface loaded slowly when adding new filaments or machine configurations on Windows.
Fixed an issue on Windows where model files with special characters (e.g., extended Unicode characters or emojis) in their filenames were imported as empty models or failed to load.
Fixed an issue where Orca login became invalid after changing the password via the App under specific network conditions.
Fixed an issue where the software crashed when repeatedly importing the same G-code file.
Fixed an issue in V2.3.5 where switching from the Prepare page to the Preview page automatically sliced all plates. It now slices only the plate currently selected in the Prepare page.
Fixed an issue where slicing could proceed even when the filament flow ratio was set to 0. Slicing is now blocked and an error message is displayed.
Fixed an issue where double-clicking a G-code file (with Orca set as the default G-code viewer) caused the software to crash.
Update Notice:
Due to the support of Time-lapse, the firmware version of U1 is set to be no less than V1.6.0.
If the current firmware version is below V1.6.0, the following notice will pop up.
Its not a factor of catching up as SnOrca is its own fork, so features in Vanilla Orca may never see the light of day in this fork and on the other side of the coin no doubts that Snapmaker are working hard to make SnOrca the best they can for Snap Users with features you’ll not see in Orca…
Just to get a comment in quick: I run Linux Mint and I’ve downloaded the AppImage version of 2.3.6.
Setting it to executable and running the appimage, all I get is an empty window with the “Setup Wizard” blank in it. I don’t know whether this is expected, but I have had similar problems with other Orca appimages and better results with the flatpacks.
I’ll have another go with the flatpack, I expect that to work better.
Edit: the appimage won’t close. I shall have to force it. I think it’s stuck waiting for something. There was a message at the start, something about certificates.
Hi, Thanks for the feedback. I have noticed that over the past weekend, there are several compatibility reports regarding Snapmaker Orca V2.3.6 running on various Linux distributions (including Mint, Zorin, and others). The issues you mentioned regarding slicing logic, connection stability, and status synchronization have been duly recorded.
Compared to previous versions, V2.3.6 did not receive specific optimizations for Linux platform adaptation at the underlying level. This may cause unexpected behavior with the AppImage version across different distributions. The problems you encountered are not isolated cases.
The good news is that overall optimization for the Linux version has been explicitly included in the V2.4.0 development roadmap. By then, we will focus on fixing known issues including connection drops, device status synchronization, and slice preview display errors, as well as improving compatibility for both Flatpak and AppImage.
Hi, the Snapmaker App V2.3.6 hasn’t intergrated Snapmaker Space.
The beta App V2.4.0 is built specifically for model‑platform testing, to verify the full workflow from model selection to sending G‑code to the Snapmaker U1. If I understand correctly, this build is based on the official Snapmaker App V2.3.5, and does not contain the new features introduced in Snapmaker App V2.3.6.
Hi, I upgraded my snapmaker Orca to V.2.3.6 and now I can’t print. Blank pages on home tab, devices tab, and after clicking on print and Upload and Print a new blank page appears.
Hi, Thanks for your follow‑up. After reviewing the logs, our engineer suspects the issue may be related to the SDK version used in the macOS packaging system.
Our engineer explains that beta builds can be provided for you to test, to verify whether this issue can be mitigated or fully resolved. Would you mind reaching out directly to our technical support team for this:Contact The Technical Support
