Anecdotal evidence is all I can offer, but I’ve never had an issue copying using ctrl+c
My evening was a real leveling nigthmare… The results of a pre-heated auto leveling with 5x5 was not better then 3x3. Then I tried manual leveling with 5x5 and even then got places where the filament was not sticking at all and others where the bed was slightly scrached. After 8 corrections with your sheet I got something aceptable. After i saved the 8th values I startet test printing with a z-offset of 0.2 then lowering 0.05 with each run. At z +0.1 I got at least some sticking in the corners but still have ereas where z is getting to low and scraching, but only 1 cm away the filament is only slightly sticking… I think my bed is way to uneven for printing anything bigger then 200x200 with good quality. Should I get a glass bed? Or should I contact the SM support about this maybe its a warranty issue?
A tired Thomas is going to bed now… not the printing bed btw
Here’s what I was told by support. Your mileage may vary, and it doesn’t hurt to email them.
Glass bed is what i am getting ready to try soon waiting on it to come in now. to print directly on the glass that will necessitate needing manual calibration unless you do some kind of mod
There are so many posts on the forum about people’s efforts to make it better I need to go around and gather it all up
The 11 x 11 calibration may help you out if it is that close of a distance to a large difference.
However, i dont think you will see being able to print one giant object across the whole build sheet very easily.
When I make big objects i just try to put most of it in the area i know is flattest (mines the center) and then if it bleeds off of it, pray that the adhesion from the rest of it will keep it from coming loose! hehe
Last weekend I already thought about the screws maybe building up a tension to the heating plate.
I have loosened all screws, heated up the bed and tightened them back only slightly. Before the next leveling attempt I will have a look at the screw thing again.
BTW what bed holder is the better one? The more square shaped or the one with the “spikes” around the square? (There was a small note that the package could contain the one or the other but I think I throw it away)
?? This is not familiar to me.
Sorry I don’t have the picture anymore I only remember. It was only a smal card that statet not to bother if the picture of the platform shown in the manual is a different one. So you also have the one with the spikes? The other one was more like a full frame where as far as I remember all outer nuts where connected with the next one.
Heard the first time
I wonder…
Can you take a picture of your platform for us?
I’m wondering if they redesigned it and shipped the revised version in later batches
Most of our platforms are webbed with some nuts on the bottom, its causing chaos with being flat - i bet they redesigned it to hold its shape better.
Unless they meant the laser bed. There has been a lot of confusion about that one since they changed the design from the original and didn’t update manual to match.

I see. I havent even looked at that yet, so that could be.
Hey @ITmaze - since you’ll be unboxing soon can you keep an eye out for what is mentioned above? A small note describing the platforms?
Have you received your replacement yet?
It true I had a sheet that means the above about the laserplattform
I have the platform (the thing directly connected to the y-axes) shown in the pictures of the manual. Thats also why I have thrown the note away. It looks like in the pictures of brents post with the support information.
The other one looked more massive. It was definitly not the laser thing… here I even wondered that it was something diverent then in the manual because it was the first tool I tested.
You can find the new platform also in the new manual (V.1.3.0):
Vs. the “old” one:
Also was wondering if the new type is better…
That’s the one I meant. I still have the old one.
That new one looks like it would be a little better with more supports to prevent warping, yeah.
Wonder if existing owners will get some sort of discount to ‘upgrade’ to the new (fixed) platform
Good Idea but i think they wont do this, but they can teach me of the oposite.
