Very odd, I imported an svg into Lightburn, ungrouped parts of it to delete them. I can engrave the remaining shapes as offset fill but not regular fill. There is a star in the svg that will engrave as regular fill if only it is selected. Anyone know what would cause this? Also is there a way to get the constant power selector with the GBRL-M3 1.1 selected in the device?
Ok so there is no constant power option with GRBL-M3. When I change to this I can engrave regular fill on these shapes but not with GRBL but other shapes do. Even if I import the object as PNG image and trace it, still wonāt fill
If I change the shape from fill to line, it will draw the outline. It will fill as offset but not fill
Sounds odd - I know that Luban is sometuimes a bit stubborn with SVGs, but Lightburn yet has to surprise me. That said, perhaps the same trick as with Luban works here also? Use Inkscape and convert all objects in the SVG to paths.
Regarding Constant power: As far as I understand it, the GRBL-M3 profile is basically only offering M3 - i.e. constant power. So thatās why thereās no switch - consider it as āconstant power always onā-Profile.
I personally only recently played around with the different profiles, and with help from Lightburn support I found a working config - see here: Laser Frustrations and bugs - #4 by Aaron.F
I found out it was because I had the use G0 moves for overscan turned on in the machine settings. turned it off and everything is working great. It even cuts better, I can use faster speeds and lower power, same with engraving.
