Scarf Seam on U1 + Snapmaker Orca

Hi!

My U1 arrived in February and overall I’m pretty Happy.

But one thing realy annoys me. And I’m surprised that I never read anywhere about it. So I think it could be my fault, but on the other hand somehow not :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Before, I had a Bambu A1 Mini + Bambustudio. On that printer the Z-seam (With scarf seam enabled) came out almost invisible and perfect. On the U1 with Snorca it’s not nearly as good as on my A1.

I experimented with Parameters like gap, etc. and it changed somehow. But it would not get better. Then i sliced the exact same primitive cylinder in Snapmaker Orca and Orca and printed them with the same settings on the U1. And they came out noticeably different. The result with the Orca Slicer was much smoother with the same settings.

With this knowledge it would be interesting so see a print on the U1 sliced with BambuStudio.

Unfortunately, at the moment I have no pictures available from my results. Will try do make some.

Could I be right with my observation that different slicers handle the algorithm for the z-seam different?

I’ve heard from some people that if the filament isn’t Snapmaker band, the print comes out much better in the OrcaSlicer than in the SnapOrca. I haven’t tested it yet, but I’ve just bought some Sunlu filament and im going to test it. I’ll also pay attention to the seam an share my experience

Thanks for your reply. I mostly use Sunlu and Bambu Filament. Would appreciate to see your results.

I have objects that I have to print on regular basis and have to rely on consistent quality.

unfortunately I still have to print such things on the A1 instead of the U1.
