Reducing gaps in Snapmaker 2.0 foldable door enclosure

Hi all,

I have an A350T with the foldable door enclosure. If you happen to have such an enclosure, chances are you may be annoyed with the large air gaps that are all over the place when the foldable doors are closed. Wanted to address this for a while, and finally did it with strong double sided duct tape and custom cut foam pieces (made from the original Snapmaker packaging foam parts :-). Today, i am fixing the last gap → the hole in the enclosure door for the touchscreen. For this, i printed a TPU shell for the touchscreen. Result: quieter, better heating and better air extraction during laser work.

I d be curious what others have done to it to reduce the openings in the doors / corners

I don’t think gaps are an issue. The gaps actually help draw air in while venting out during laser use. As for thermal leakage, I doubt that makes a difference either.

There’s actually another thread discussing this. Other have tried seals, etc, but didn’t result in any perceptible difference in print quality.

Yea, you may be right about the print quality. After sealing, I achieve no more than ~5% higher in-enclosure temperature while printing. However, for laser / smoke, it does make a big difference here. I have a good exhaust pipe to the outside, and have decidedly less smoke / odor in the room now when cutting wood / other materials after sealing the enclosure, so that improved for me.

Hi the frame for the display hole you could jut have downloaded I made it over a year ago, because I also disliked the big gab around the display, our dog was offen with me, and it could potentially cause her eye damage.
