Hello All,
I am looking to buy one of the snapmaker 2.0 but I am hoping to also be able to mount custom toolheads for purposes of QC imaging of PCBs and potentially adding external measuring devices in place of the toolhead. Before I make the purchase I want to know just how flexible the snapmaker is when it comes to custom toolheads. For context, I would like be able to make a print and before removing the parts, replace the hotend with a depth gauge and probe important dimensions without removing them from the build plate or cnc something and make similar measurements.
1: If I remove a toolhead from the snapmaker without plugging anything in, will the snapmaker give an error and not work?
2: If it is inoperable due to bed leveling requirements, will it crash if I have it bed level, pause the print, remove the 3D printer toolhead with it either remaining plugged in or unplugging it and then allowing it to continue on with the movements but with a different attachment?
3: Does anyone know which pin on the hotend cable sends the signal for extrusion? Ideally, I would have something that can be triggered to save a measurement using the signal sent to the extruder.
Any guidance would be appreciated before I dive into this project.
