Hello wonderful people.
I needed a purge bucket/nozzle wipe for the project I’m working. Naturally - got to design. Then I realized that would be nice to make it universal. So I’m looking for some help with measurements.
I made the google form to collect information, quick and easy - https://forms.gle/TqmReWab5E2xWLiB7 Feel free to fill it out with your results.
It will help me to approximate the design that will fit everyone. As much as possible =)
Why? I like multicolor/material prints. And I like making timelapses. Oozing - kinda sucks. Enter the bucket to purge during color change and wipe when timelapsing.
After some real life tests, the bracket to bucket interface proven to be not sturdy enough to keep clearances in check.
This iteration has friction wheel to firmly secure the bucket when it is in the bracket.
Along the way, reworked the model so it is fully parametric. So easy to adapt for any printer now.
The side mount bracket made to be optional and can be used left and right side. Not in the video here.
The mold for high temp. gasket material worked. On the third time if only I know that Vaseline is the best DIY mold release.
Now anyone will be able to make their own unique shape wiper blade.
Now onto the blob drop mechanism, if you have any ideas - let’s join the design forces.
Hi @Zeke, I do have the STL if that’s what you mean. It’s my design after all:)
But this isn’t ready yet for the release. I have to finish some parts of it. Then it will be uploaded to printables.
When you say you would like to use this for your desktop layout, what do you mean by that?
I mean a model .stp of the machine itself, NOT the wiper you came up with.
I’m looking for a model of the 3D printer itself for me to put in a layout of my workbench.
I modeled my entire workshop, and would like to put my printer in it as well.
Looking at your picture, you have a good model of the snapmaker machine.
If youre able to send that to me it would be much appreciated.
